About Me

              Welcome to the nest!
I am Mrs. Schigur. I have been teaching Kindergarten for 17 years and loved every class so much!  I have a Master's of Education from the University of Louisville in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education. That makes me uniquely qualified to teach the youngest children and a background specifically in child development.  Before coming to Lanesville in 2005, I taught preschool, toddlers, and even babies at a center in Louisville, KY.  My favorite part of teaching Kindergarten is watching my friends learn through play. My classroom is play based and active. We will sing, dance, and play our way through many new concepts this year. We will have so much fun!
Personally, I am a wife to my husband Ron and the mama of a super sweet 9th grader! I still cannot believe she is that big! I have 2 cats, 3 dogs, and our class pet Pudding (hamster).
I was raised in Harrison County and attended St. Joseph Catholic School and CCHS. My family still lives in the New Middletown area and I live in Corydon. You might even see my daughter and I riding our bikes through town!
I love coffee, spending time with family and friends, Christmas time, and ALL things Disney!
Welcome to the nest!

Mrs. Tyree

Mrs. Tyree is our classroom assistant. She has been with me for 10 years and we are so excited for this year. I know you and your kiddos will love her! Mrs. Tyree is known for being a favorite to SO many kiddos. She does anything and everything for our classroom and still manages to play too!
